We almost always play cards at family get togethers at my Aunt Rita’s house. She has a fairly large table, so there was always a lot of passing the deck around and reaching over. So I made her this lazy susan, as a Christmas gift, so the deck can always be close by.
It’s made out of various off-cuts that I had around that I thought looked good and would go good together. The cherry is actually from the same boards I used for the drawer fronts on the Fremont Nightstands. There were a couple of knots that I filled with black tinted epoxy. I think on a project like this they can give a nice touch of visual interest.
The finish is Tried and True Original Wood Finish. It gives a very nice feel, but will probably need to be refinished every few years.
