Today was new tool day. I ordered these back in March from Grizzly, but as we know many things are seeing significant delays these days.
Once finally shipped both tools arrived the next day in perfect condition. Thanks to New Holland Transport for that and also for coming in a small enough truck that could be backed right up to my garage.
G1071 Oscillating Spindle Sander
First up is the Grizzly G1071 Oscillating Spindle Sander. This is upgrading from a WEN benchtop model. The WEN is fine, but I’m definitely looking forward to this one with the much larger spindles, stroke length, table size, and tilting table.
G0775 20” Disc Sander
Up next is the Grizzly G0775 20” Disc Sander. This is upgrading from the 12” Harbor Freight disc sander. The Harbor Freight model is definitely one of their gems (other than the table). A 24” would have been even better, but I’m not aware of any new at a price I would be willing to pay and never see any come up on the used market around here.
These join the other large sanding tools in my shop, the Jet 6x89 Oscillating Edge Sander and the Supermax 19-38 Drum Sander. I wouldn’t mind upgrading the Supermax to a dual drum without an open end (a feature I rarely use), but that probably won’t be anytime in the near future.
